He should talk to his friend so that he can say he’s sorry. To learn to use “Why don’t you… ” Why don’t you go to sleep earlier this evening To learn to use conjunctions: until, so that, although Step 2 Warming- up and revision 1. Have a dictation of the new words learned in the last class. 2. Check the homework. 3. Let some Ss read the article in 3a. Then finish the short passage about Sad and Thirteen. (見課件) Step 3 Grammar focus. 1. Students read the Grammar Focus, Then finish the exercises. 3. Students correct the mistakes and remember the sentences. Step 4 Try to Find 一、提出建議 1.掌握提出問題的方法, What’s wrong What’s the matter with sb. What’s the problem/the trouble 并能討論所給出的建議。 情態動詞should, should等 should,shouldn’t “(不)應該”,常用來提出請求和建議 could “可以”可也用來給出建議。 表建議的句型: You should/could +v. Why don’t you + v. Why not + v. Could you please + v. You’d better (not) + v.. Would you mind doing…… What about/How about + n./doing…… Step 5 Practice Work on 4a: 1. Fill in the blanks with although, so that or until. 2. 方法指導: 1) 點撥:so that 意為“因此”,引導目的狀語從句,表示前一句所表述的動作的目的。在從句中常使用can /could / will/ may/ should等詞。 拓展:so… that… 意為“如此……以至于”,常用于結果狀語從句,表示上文動作所產生結果。 2) 點撥:句意“盡管你現在沒有朋友,但不久你就會有朋友的。”although是連詞,意為“盡管……但是”,同though一樣引導讓步狀語從句。 它們引導的讓步狀語從句既可放在主句之前,也可放在主句之后。另外,在英語中although 或though不能和but同時出現在一個句子中,但它們之間可進行句型轉換。 3) 點撥:until 用于否定句中,表示句子的動作直到until短語所表示的時間才開始發生,即表示動作的起點。一般譯為“直到……才” 。 拓展:until 用在肯定句中,表示句子的動作一直持續到until短語所表示的時間為止,即表示動作的終點。一般可譯為“直到……時(為止)”或“在……以前”。在這種用法中,句子的謂語動詞必須是持續動詞(非瞬間動詞), e.g. She was a bank clerk until the war, when she trained as a nurse. 她戰前是個銀行職員,戰時受訓當了護士。 4) 點撥:句意“盡管他是你的最好的朋友,但你還是應當告訴他,抄襲別人的作業是不對的。”,可知空格處應用though 。 Work on 4c. Students read the sentences and finish the task according to the teacher’s requirement.
