Greet the students and have a chant with students. T: Good morning, boys and girls! S: Good morning, teacher! T: Are you happy Let’s chant together. Step 2: Presentation (5 minutes) Show the pictures of different clubs on the PPT and teach them how to read them. T: Look at the pictures on your textbook. Can you tell me what clubs they are (Point to the picture of the science club) What's this S: It's an science club. T: Great! Now match the pictures with the clubs. Check the answers and check answer like this:Look at picture A ,it’s a science club. Step 3: Pre-listening 1:Practice the sentence structure: Can you ... Yes,I can./No,I can’t. 2:Explain the meaning of “with feeling” Step 4: While-listening (10 minutes) Play the recording of 1b for the first time. work on 1b. Listen to three conversations. Which club does each student want to join 2. Play the recording again. Work on 1c complete the sentences with can or can’t. 3. Check the answers with the students. Step 5: Post-listening 1.Analyse the conversation texts. (10 minutes) a,Ask the Ss read the three conversation text quickly and answer three questions. b,Discuss the elements of choosing a club. Depends on hobbies, abilities and time. C,Read aloud the three conversations 2.listen and repeat. Follow the videos and notice the body language of these speaker. Step 6: Group work(5 minutes) 1. Present the role-play situation on the PPT. T: Now, Today is school club day,there are many clubs in our school. Look at me , I am the club leader of music club.Who want to join music club S:I want to join music club. T: Can you sing or dance S:Yes, I can.T; Great. Welcome to our club. /No, I can’t. T: It’s ok, you can learn it here. T: Now I’ll choose 6 club leaders for 6 different clubs. Each club leader has a club name card. You can get out of your seats and find your favourite club. Homework : Must do:Use “can” to make yes-no sentences. Can do:Make a conversation of joining a club. Step 8: Give a assessment T: Now, take out of your assessment paper. Look, there are three part you should assent by yourself. If you can do it very well, you can draw three stars on each part.If you just can do it,you can draw two stars on each part.If you can’t do it,you can draw one star on each part. And then ,exchange it with your partner. Your partner assess it for you. Last, as for teacher’s assessment, if you answer my questions,you can draw one star for each part.
