The 21-year-old shadow puppetry（皮影戲） lover Hanna Lewis showed two hundred videos of shadow plays on the Internet in 2023. More than twenty thousand people liked these videos.

When you are learning English, reading can be important and helpful.When you read, you can not only learn some new words,but also learn, how to use these English words. When you read, the sentences in the reading materials（素材）can give you good examples of writing. Here are some good reading tips.
Try to read something at the right level. Read something that you can more or less understand. If you always have to stop and use a dictionary every time you read a few new words, the book may be too difficult for you.
Try to improve your vocabulary. When there are four or five new words in a passage, don't look them up at once. You should try to guess their meanings as you read first. Then you should write them down in the notebook and try to memorise them.
Try to read regularly （有規(guī)律地）.Read for a short time every day. Reading for fifteen minutes every day is better than two hours every Sunday.
Read what interests you. Choose a novel or a magazine about the subject that you like because you are going to spend money and time buying and reading it.

Chengdu is my home town, and it is known for pandas and the hot pot （火鍋）.Now let me help you know more about my home town.
The teahouses are important in Chengdu people's life. They are everywhere in the city. They are not just places to drink tea but places to meet friends and listen to the Sichuan Opera, and most commonly, play mahjong （麻將）.As a local saying goes, “If you can't find someone in Chengdu, he or she is either playing mahjong or on the way to playing mahjong."

One day, a group of tourists from Australia climbed a large rock in the Central Park of New York City. They took pictures of one another with the high-rise buildings in the background. Like many other tourists, they didn’t realize that high in a nearby tree, there was something more worthy of attention: an eagle-owl （雕鶚） named Flaco.
Earlier that month, the bird Flaco made his great escape（逃跑）from the Central Park Zoo. The zookeepers then tried several times to catch him but were unsuccessful. He seemed to be in no hurry to return to the zoo.

Fire is useful and important to us. You use it to cook meals every day. But if you are not careful, a fire may take place anytime. Many people get hurt or die in fires. So knowing how to protect yourself in a fire is very important.
When a fire happens, the first thing you must do is to find safe ways to get away quickly. If you are in the relatively high floors of the building, you can't use the lift. You should run out along the stairs.From the lower floors of the building, you can jump out through the windows if it is necessary（有必要的） and safe enough.
If you can't get out of the room, you must be careful of the smoke. In fact, most of the people die from the heavy smoke in fires.Find something wet to cover your nose and mouth. Keep low to the ground, and you will take in（吸入） less smoke. And you can also open the window, keep your head outside to get fresh air and shout for help.

Nepal（尼泊爾） is famous as “the land of snowy mountains’ on earth.It's well worth visiting. So when is the best time to visit Nepal
Qomolangma is the highest mountain on earth, and part of it lies in the north of Nepal, while Plain of Terai （德賴平原） is the lowest area with an average altitude （海拔）of 150—300 metres. For such a huge altitude drop, you will see five seasons in Nepal: autumn, winter, spring, summer and the monsoon（雨季）.

(3)“who”提問的是人，答句用人名、稱呼或身份等。
如：Who suggests museums should regularly hold special events to collect money
回答：Li Mishao suggests museums should regularly hold special events to collect money.

(4)“which+名詞”提問的是“哪一個”，答句通常為名詞。
如：Which direction was the writer facing while he was looking over the Grand Canyon
回答：He was facing west while he was looking over the Grand Canyon. /West.
(5)“what”提問的是事物，答句用名詞、句子、動名詞短語(doing sth.)或動詞不定式短語(to do sth.)等。特別注意，答語不能以過去式和動詞的第三人稱單數(shù)開頭。
如:What did he do yesterday
回答：He played football.
(6)“how”提問的是方式時，答句用“By(doing) sth."、“Through (doing)sth."或“With sth."等。如:How can they get information today
回答：They can get information through the Internet today./Through the Internet.
(7)“how many”提問的是可數(shù)名詞的數(shù)量，答句用數(shù)字。但若數(shù)字前有限定詞，回答時不得遺漏。常見的限定詞有 about/around/more than/over/at least/less than等。
如:How many suggestions are there in the passage
回答：There are four/4 (suggestions). /Four/4.
“how long”提問的是時間段，答句用(for+)時間段。
如:How long will Steven's business trip last
回答:Steven's/His business trip/It will last (for) two weeks. /For two weeks. /Two weeks.
“how much”提問的是價格或不可數(shù)名詞的數(shù)量，答句用價格或表達數(shù)量的詞。
如:How much does the man have to pay
回答：He has to pay 25 dollars./25 dollars.
(10)“How does sb. feel "或“What's the feeling of sb. ”提問的是感受或情緒，答句用表示感受或情緒的形容詞。
如:How will the kids feel at the party
回答：They will feel excited (at the party)./Excited.
(11)“What's the purpose of... ”提問的是目的，答句用“To do..."或“In order to do.."等。
如：What's the purpose of the first website
回答：The purpose of the first website is to encourage everybody to learn Chinese. /To encourage everybody to learn Chinese./ In order to encourage everybody to learn Chinese.
2.選擇疑問句：把題干的信息與原文信息進行比對、判斷題干提供的哪個選項與原文信息相符，選擇與原文信息相符的選項進行回答。注意不能用“Yes"或者“No”回答。

回答：They are small in size./Small.
