教學內容分析 主題語境：人與自然 主題群：自然生態 子主題：自然環境、自然遺產保護 語篇類型：視頻、文字、習題 文本分析： 本節課分兩部分：第一部分為Video Time，介紹了在美國華盛頓特區的巖溪公園(Rock Creek Park)開展的一次名為BioBlitz的活動。第二部分為Assessing Your Progress，活動1圍繞本單元主題介紹貝加爾湖，設置選詞填空練習，復習重要詞匯；活動2列出我國的一些風景名勝，如張掖丹霞地質公園、張家界、桂林漓江、云南麗江，要求學生使用動詞-ing形式回答問題。最后對本單元進行總的反思和評價。
學情分析 本課例之前，學生已經完成了本單元閱讀、詞匯、語法、寫作和聽說課程的學習，對于單元主題人與自然的理解也更深入一步。本課時教學內容分為兩部分，分別是視頻教學和復習鞏固。學生對于視頻內容BioBlitz活動較為感興趣，但是由于缺乏背景知識以及聽力水平有限，學生在理解視頻具體關鍵信息時可能會有些許困難。
學習目標 通過觀看視頻，了解在華盛頓特區的巖溪公園(Rock Creek Park)開展的BioBlitz活動的相關信息。 討論中國具有不同種類動植物的公園及公園的活動。 閱讀一些自然遺產的相關信息，復習本單元的詞匯和語法。

教學評活動過程 教師活動學生活動環節一： Brainstorm教師活動 Before watching,ask students to discuss what they know about BioBlitz. They can also read the brief introduction on Page 36.學生活動 Read the brief introduction of BioBlitz and discuss it in groups. 設計意圖： 在觀看視頻之前，讓學生討論BioBlitz，激活學生已有認知和觀看視頻的興趣，有助于提高觀看視頻的注意力。環節二：Video Time 教師活動 Discussion. (Before You Watch) Ask students to work in groups and use the phrases in the box to describe what is going on in the photos, and then ask them to discuss what they think a BioBlitz is. True or false. (While You Watch) Go through the sentences on Page 36 in While You Watch with students and make sure they understand the meanings. Play the video for students to watch and decide if the following statements are true (T) or false (F). Share the answers with the whole class, and if necessary, play the video again for students to check the answers.學生活動 Discuss in groups and describe what is going on in the photos. Besides, try to guess what a BioBlitz is based on the discussion. Watch the video and complete the activity True or false or page 36. Check the answers and watch the video again to figure out the answers.設計意圖： 讓學生使用提示的詞匯描述六幅圖片的內容，并討論什么是BioBlitz，有利于激活學生的思維，接著通過觀看視頻，驗證信息的正確性，以此提高學生獲取信息的能力。環節三：Discussion 教師活動 Ask students to work in groups and discuss the following questions. (After You Watch) This BioBlitz was conducted in the middle of a large city. Do you think there is as much biodiversity in your city or town Why or why not Are there any parks in your city or town where you can find many different kinds of plants and animals What activities can you do there 學生活動 Discuss the two following questions in groups and share their own opinions with the whole class. Suggested answers: I think there is a lot of biodiversity in my town, because there are mountains, a lake, and plenty of parks and green space. (2) Behind my home there is a large park which is filled with trees. There are all sorts of plants and insects there, but not so many other animals. It is a good place to take a walk, or to sit and enjoy the view of the nearby lake.設計意圖： 用所獲取的信息進行簡單討論，促使學生通過討論自主地學習。同時，通過討論中的交流，讓學生在民主平等的基礎上與他人互相合作，發揮同學相互間鼓勵、相互啟發的教育作用，讓學生在主動參與的活動中提高合作意識與協作能力。環節四：Complete (Assess Your Progress)教師活動 Go through the words in the box and make sure students understand their meanings. Ask students to read the passage and fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box.學生活動 Complete the activity 1 on page 34. Share the answers first in pairs or groups and then with the whole class. 設計意圖： 該活動為選擇正確的單詞并用其適當形式完成關于貝加爾湖介紹的練習，屬于詞匯練習，旨在讓學生在具體語境中練習詞匯，促進其詞匯的使用能力。環節五：Read and answer 教師活動 Answer the questions using the -ing form of the verb phrases in brackets. Then write down at least two more questions and answers of your own.學生活動 Complete the activity 2 on page 34.
