I am Li Hua, a high school student at Mingqi Middle School. I am writing to offer my photograph for the "Family Love" exhibition.
The picture was taken on my birthday last year. I came home from school, expecting a normal day. But when I opened the door, I was greeted by a room filled with balloons and a big cake on the table. My parents and my older brother were standing there, wearing party hats and shouting "Surprise!" Their excited expressions and the warm atmosphere of the room made me feel extremely happy. I am Wu Lei, a photography enthusiast. When I heard the theme of this exhibition, this photo instantly crossed my mind, which was taken in June 2023 at Pudong International Airport when my older brother was back from the US for his last summer vacation.
This summer was special for us, as the pandemic had separated our family for three years. I still remember the moment I saw my brother coming out from the arrival gate.
