Unit 1 What's the matter
Healthy advice
As we all know, it is important to keep healthy. Here is some advice on how to keep healthy for middle school students.
First, we should go to bed early and get up early. Never stay up late. We should sleep at least eight hours every day. Second, we should do more exercise, such as walking, running and swimming. Third, we should have good eating habits. Try to eat more fruit and vegetables. Eat less junk food. It is bad for our health. Last but not least, don't spend too much time on the computer or the mobile phone. It will make our eyes tired.
I hope all of us can know the importance of health and keep healthy.
Unit 2 I'll help to clean up the city parks.
1.What can you do for the sick kids
2. Why do you help these sick kids
Dear classmates,
Some sick children in the Children's Hospital need our help! I think we could do something for them. Here are some suggestions.
First, we can hold some activities(開展一些活動(dòng)) to cheer up the children. Playing games, drawing pictures and doing DIY are all good ideas. Second, let's do some cleaning to make the kids have a comfortable environment. Third, it's necessary to call on some charities(呼吁慈善機(jī)構(gòu)) to help and care for these sick kids. Last but not least, we can save our pocket money and give it away to those in need(攢下零花錢捐給有需要的人).
In a word, if everyone gives a helping hand, they may live a better life and the world will be full of love.
Yours,
Li Hua
Unit 3 Could you please clean your room
01做家務(wù) pros of housework
1. Do you think children should do some chores at home
2. Why or why not
3. Write a letter to the Sunday Mail and express your opinion.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I strongly agree that it's important for children to learn how to do chores and help their parents with housework.
First of all , doing housework will help us to be independent instead of(代替) asking, “Could you get this for me ” or “Could you help me with that ” Besides, since we live in one house with our parents, we should share the housework to have a clean and comfortable home. What's more, happiness follows labor(勞動(dòng)帶來幸福). We will get a feeling of satisfaction when we do housework.
In a word, the earlier we learn to be independent, the better it is for our future. Let's do chores from now on!
Yours,
Li Hua
02做家務(wù) pros of housework
Should we do chore or not
Work is the true source of human welfare(勞動(dòng)是人類幸福的源泉). We have a discussion about students should do chores or not.
Some people think it's important to do chores. First of all, doing chores help kids learn more skills. Cooking meals and folding clothes are just some of necessary things when we live alone. What's more, chores help kids respect their parents. By doing chores, we may understand parents better and help parents working for all day with housework. Other people think doing chores is a waste of time, not doing housework can enjoy their life better and make their dreams come true.
In my opinion, doing choices is not only good for our future, but also makes us get such a strong feeling of satisfaction. So let's do housework from now on.
Unit 4 Why don't you talk to your parents
01
too much after-school classes
Dear Sir or Madam,
Nowadays, many students have after-school classes. In my opinion, having after-school classes does much harm to(對sb 有害處) children.
First of all, although some parents believe the classes can help children learn a lot, they take up most of children's time(占用孩子大多數(shù)時(shí)間) to relax. I think children should develop more hobbies(培養(yǎng)愛好) like playing basketball or playing the piano instead of studying all the time(而不是一直學(xué)習(xí)). Besides, after-school classes also make children have a lot pressure than before(比以前更有壓力). Many students even give up some bedtime(放棄睡覺時(shí)間)in order to finish their homework. It's really bad for children's health. At the same time, if students learn in after-school classes ahead of time(提前), they may lose interest in(失去興趣)listening to the teachers carefully.
All in all, I don't agree the idea that students should have lots of after school classes.
02
have stress in our lives
We all have some problems and stress in our lives. How should we solve them
Firstly, listening to music or taking part in outdoor activities(參加戶外活動(dòng)) is a good way to help us get relaxed. So we can keep healthy and glad. Secondly, when we are in trouble, we should communicate with our teachers, parents and friends to tell them about our problems. They can give us some useful advice to solve those problems and stress. Thirdly, we should try our best to study hard and be brave to face our grades. Finally, if we are still under too much pressure(處于壓力下), we'd better go to see a doctor.
No matter how many difficulties we have, I believe all of them can be overcome(克服) in the end.
Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came
01
An unforgettable thing (下暴雨回家)
An unforgettable thing I remember well happened on a rainy day. It was on my way home last Friday.
On that day, while I was making my way(艱難的回家) home as usual, all of a sudden, black clouds were making the sky very dark. When it began to rain heavily, everyone on the road was busy getting out of the rain. I thought I had an umbrella in my schoolbag, so I kept trying to look for it. However, I suddenly realized that my umbrella was left in the classroom. So I had to wait for the rain to stop. Finally, I arrived at home one hour later. I took a hot shower and ate some warm food. I felt so good to be home!
This event is unforgettable for me because it makes me understand that it's important to prepare in advance(提前準(zhǔn)備) and carry an umbrella with me.
02
An unforgettable thing (騎車)
Although there are many unforgettable things in my life. I will never forget the day when I learned to ride a bike(學(xué)著騎自行車) for the first time.
On that day, my grandfather offered to teach me how to ride a bike. At first, he held on to the back of the bike(扶著后座). After a few minutes, I thought I could ride on my own, so I asked him not to help me. However, I fell off my bike(從自行車上摔下來). At that moment, I felt so angry that I wanted to give up. But my grandfather told me, "Never give up easily(不要輕易放棄). Failure is the mother of success. I'm sure you can do it." With his encouragement(有了他的鼓勵(lì)), I regained my confidence(重拾信心). Finally, with enough practice, I was able to ride a bike!
Through that experience, I learn that we should continue to work hard no matter what happens.
03
An unforgettable thing (學(xué)游泳)
Everyone has his own unforgettable things. For me, there was one thing that I still remembe well until now.
It was a hot summer day and I wanted to learn how to swim. At first, I thought it wouldn't be difficult. However, as my father asked me to try to swim in the pool I began to feel afraid. When I jumped into the water, I almost couldn't breathe(幾乎不能呼吸), so I quickly raised my head out of the water(很快從水里仰頭) and I didn't want to learn swimming any more. But my father encouraged me to try again. With his encouragement and help, I overcame the fear(克服恐懼) and kept trying several times. Finally, I did it successfully(成功做到).
I will never forget the experience, because it makes me understand that it is important to keep trying and we should never give up easily.
Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains.
01Yu Gong moves the mountain
There are so many stories about Chinese culture, let me tell you one that encourage me for many years.
Once upon a time, there lived an old man called Yu Gong. There were two mountains near his house. They were so big that it took a long time to walk to the other side. To solve this problem, Yu Gong told his family that he wanted to move the mountains and he needed their help. All his family members agreed so they started digging the next day. They worked day after day, night after night. One day, when aman saw Yu Gong and his family working, he said it was impossible for Yu Gong to move the mountains because he was old and weak. But YuGong said his family could continue doing it after he died. Yu Gong's spirit moved the God so he sent two gods to take the mountains away. Seeing this, all the family members jumped with joy.
This story tells us we never know what is possible unless we try to make it happen.
02Monkey King
The Monkey King is from the famous Chinese story Journey to the West, Let me tell something about it.
Once upon a time, The rock opened up and a monkey was born. This monkey is kind and special, because he can help weak people. He can see and hear very well. He can fly fast and far with the clouds(用筋斗云飛的很快很遠(yuǎn)).
The Monkey King has a magic stick. He can make the stick big or small. He can sometimes make the stick so small that he can put it into his ear.As soon as he sees bad people, he thinks of ways to fight them. He can turn himself into different animals or obiects. But unless he can hide his tail, he can't make himself a human.
Children all over the world love the Monkey King.
03Staying by a stump waiting for more rabbits
I have an interesting story, it named 'staying by a stump waiting for more rabbits". Now, I want to share it with you.
Once upon a time, a farmer worked hard in the felds every day. One day, while he was working, he saw a rabbit. The rabbit was very afraid. It ran so quickly that its head hit a stump. And it died. The farmer picked up the dead rabbit and took it home for dinner happily. From that day on, he gave up farming. He threw his hoe away and stayed by the stump, waiting for rabbits to come again. But he never saw another rabbits. He finally realized his mistake and went back to work in his felds, but all his crops were dead.
As the saying goes, "No gains, no gains" Only through hard work can we succeed.
