Teaching Procedures Step 1: Lead- in (5 minutes) 1. Show some pictures of Easter and ask students: "What do you know about Easter " Encourage students to share their prior knowledge or guesses. 2. Ask another question: "Do you often search for information on the Internet How " Elicit students' responses and lead to the topic of using the Internet for research. Step 2: Pre-reading (5 minutes) 1. Present the title of the lesson "A Computer Helps!" and ask students to predict what the text might be about based on the title. 2. Introduce the learning objectives of this lesson and briefly explain what students are going to achieve. Step 3: While- reading (15 minutes) 1. Skimming Ask students to read the text quickly and answer the question: "What is the main idea of the text " Check the answers and guide students to summarize the main idea: The text is about how the author researched Easter information on the Internet. 2. Scanning Divide students into groups of four. Each group is given a set of questions related to the details of the text. For example: When is Easter How do people celebrate Easter What are the symbols of Easter Students scan the text to find the answers to the questions. After a few minutes, invite representatives from each group to share their answers. Correct and clarify any misunderstandings. 3. Intensive Reading Focus on some key sentences and language points in the text. For example: "Easter does not fall on the same day each year. The date depends on the moon." Explain the meaning and usage of "fall on" and "depend on" with examples. Have students practice using these phrases in sentences. Step 4: Post-reading (5 minutes) 1. Let's Do It! Part 1 Play the audio of Danny's Easter egg hunt. Students listen and decide whether the statements are true or false. Check the answers together and discuss why the statements are correct or incorrect. 2. Let's Do It! Part 2 Students read the text again and fill in the blanks to review the key information about Easter. Check the answers and provide feedback. 3. Mind Map Guide students to fill in the mind map on the blackboard to summarize the main points of the text about Easter, including when it is, how it is celebrated, and what it is. Ask students to compare Easter with a Chinese spring festival (e.g., the Spring Festival) and make a mind map for the Chinese festival. Step 5: Group Discussion (5 minutes) 1.
