Students can use words, phrases and sentences in real life.Teaching Key Points Help students learn the new words and sentences.Teaching Difficult Points Guide students to use new knowledge in their daily life.Teaching Method TBLT, CLT,situational teachingTeaching Aid Multi-media, PPT, music, picturesMajor Steps Step 1 Warm-up & Lead in(5 minutes) Greeting Sing together At the beginning of the class, the teacher will play a chant “What would you like ” and guide the whole class sing together. Revision:Hungry monster The teacher will show the words that need to be reviewed on the blackboard, then move with a big mouth monster. The student will say: "yummy,yummy,yummy,stop." When the students say stop, the teacher will stop at one word, then the students need to say the word.(Justification: The chant and game are joyful which can arouse students’ interest to participate in teaching activities. Meanwhile, they can also lead to the topic of this lesson naturally.) Step 2 Presentation (15mins) New word presentation: After the game, the teacher will ask students some question: Q1: In these food, what kind of food do you like Q2: Do you know what food I like Teachers will show different degrees of liking through the number of different smiling faces, and finally present the new word favorite. Then the teacher will set up a situation “Follow Sarah Around The Gourmet Street” and show the new words in each store. Ice-cream store: The teacher will first show the picture of ice cream and then show the new word sweet. After that, the teacher will ask students to look, choose and say which food is/are sweet and not sweet. Fruit store: The teacher will first show two pictures (stale fruit & fresh fruit) and ask students what kind of fruit should they buy and why, teaching the new word fresh. After teaching the new word, the teacher will ask the students to classify fresh and stale fruit. Vegetable store: The teacher will first show pictures of vegetables, then show a salad which is made from vegetables, and then teach new words healthy. After that, the teacher will ask students to classify healthy food and unhealthy food. Hot-pot store: The teacher will first show a picture of hot pot and guide the students to observe what is in the hot pot, then show the picture of hot pepper and teach the new word hot. Fast food store: The teacher will show a picture of fast food and ask what is in the fast food restaurant, then show hamburger, and ask the students whether they like it and why Because yummy, and then show the new word delicious. New sentence presentation: The teacher will play a recording and ask the students to listen to the recording and answer the questions, then present the new sentences of the lesson. (Justification: Creating situations can attract students' attention and make students enter the state of learning quickly. Through a large number of pictures and comparisons, students can more easily understand the meaning of new words and establish a correct view of eating and learn to make a correct evaluation of food.) Step 3 Practice (13mins) Vocabulary practice: Look, write and say Whole class work: Boom Game Sentence practice: Pair work: The teacher will ask students to share with their partner about their favorite food. Step 4 Production (10mins) 1.Compare and think: The teacher will show students two different eating diet and ask student to chose which one is good. 2.Group work: The teacher will ask students to make a menu for their class party. (Justification: Through these activities, students can further master new words and sentences and learn how to use these words and sentences in life. In addition, pair work and group work also cultivate students' teamwork consciousness and cooperation ability.) Step 4 Summary & Homework (3mins) Summary: The teacher will ask students to act as an assistant teacher to conclude what we have learned this class. Then make a summary together. (Justification: Reviewing the important knowledge in this lesson can deepen students’ impression and form good study habits) Homework: Asked: 1.Read the words and sentences three times. 2.Write an essay about your favorite food. Optional: Do a survey about your family’s favorite food and draw on the paper. (Justification: Write an essay about their favorite food can improve students' language organization ability and combine speaking and writing.
