Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes) 1. Greet the students and have a free talk about the weather today. 2. Ask students which season they think it is now and what they like about this season. Step 2: Lead-in (5 minutes) 1. Show some pictures of spring on the PPT, including blooming flowers, green grass, and people doing outdoor activities. 2. Ask students what they know about spring and which season is their favorite. Step 3: Pre-reading (5 minutes) 1. Present the title of the lesson “It’s Getting Warmer!” and ask students to predict what the text might be about. 2. Introduce some new words and phrases related to the topic, such as “temperature”, “winter jasmine”, “neither...nor...”, and explain their meanings and pronunciations. Step 4: While-reading (10 minutes) 1. Fast Reading - Ask students to read the text quickly and answer the following questions: - Who wrote the letter - Where did the writer live - Check the answers with the students. 2. Careful Reading - Ask students to read the text carefully again and do the exercises in “Let’s Do It!” part 1: - Read the lesson and write true (T) or false (F). 1. Step 5: Post-reading (10 minutes) 1. Group Discussion - Divide the students into groups of four and ask them to discuss the following questions: - What do people like to do in spring - How do you feel about spring - Encourage students to express their opinions freely and use the words and sentences learned in the text. 2. Presentation - Invite some groups to present their discussions to the class. 3. Language Practice - Ask students to complete the exercises in “Let’s Do It!” part 3: 1.
