And in 2020, the population of China is over 1.4 billion.
The water resource isn’t always growing. In 2018，the total water rescource even fell to the least in the recent years.

With the development of the society, there are more and more olde people. The population of the older people will grow from 29 million in 2020 to 128 million in 2050.
Now, we are facing a serious aging population problem. As a result, we won’t have enough people to do the work. And what’s more, we need more people to take care of the more and more old people.
Then what should we do？
First,encourage people to have more than one child in every family. What’s more, we should try our best to take good care of the old people.

Lead-in Show students a picture and have a free talk about the picture. Q:1.What’s the picture about What’s the population of China 3.What’s the problem with large population Then show students another picture about the water shortage. So it is natural to go on reading the passage in Around the world:world population and water. Around the world Ask the students to go through the passage carefully and fill in the blanks on their working sheet. Let’s read and talk Show the students two graphs about the population of China and the water resource in China. Ask them to read the graphs carefully and find out the problems. Lead the students get the following opinions： Half of China is in great need of water. Water resource per person in China is only 1/4 of the world average（平均）. And the water resouce per person in Henan is only 1/5 of China average. China is in great need of water. IV Let's make a report Lead them to finish the task in three steps as following: Step 1：Collect data. Lead students to find out more ways to collect data.(They can go to the library, surf on the Internet and so on) Step 2：Make graphs according to the data. Draw a graph together with the students. Step 3：Describe the graphs. When describing the graphs, ask the students to do as the following: 1).Introduce the information in the graphs. 2).Point out the problems according to the graphs. 3).Your opinions on the problems.
