Then students have a look at the whole picture and predict. (1)What was Henry doing with his mobile phone (2)What might happen between the snake and Henry Students also talk about what they will do if a snake bites them. Activity 2 Read for the main idea Students read the passage and complete the story map through global reading. Activity 3 Read for details (main events) Students read the passage carefully and complete the story mountain with main events. Activity 4 Read for details (specific time) Students read the passage carefully again and underline the specific time at which main events happened. And students will say complete sentences by themselves.Observe how students answer the questions to see if they can read the pictures and know what to do if they are bitten by a snake. Observe if students have grasped the main idea of the passage based on the students’ story map. Observe the key words students fill in the story mountain to judge students’ comprehensive and accurate degree of obtaining and recording the information.
