時間狀語從句
在英語中,用從句表達一件事情或一個行為發生的時間,這個從句就叫時間狀語從句。時間狀語從句常用when, while, before, after, as soon as, since, until/till等連詞引導。
類型 用法 例句
1.由when引導的時間狀語從句 when意為“當……的時候”,既可以表示某一時間點發生的事,又可以表示在某一時間段發生的事,主句與從句描述的動作或事情可以同時發生,也可以先后發生。所以when引導的從句中,謂語動詞既可以是延續性動詞,也可以是瞬間動詞。 The students were sleeping when the teacher came into the classroom.當老師走進教室的時候,學生們正在睡覺。
He called me when I stayed at home.當我待在家的時候,他給我打電話。

2.由while引導的時間狀語從句 while強調主句和從句中所表示的動作在同一時期發生。由于while從句表示持續的行為,所以從句中要用延續性動詞或狀態動詞,并且延續性動詞常用進行時態。 While I'm doing my homework, my mom is cooking dinner.
當我在做作業的時候,媽媽正在做晚飯。

3.由before引導的時間狀語從句 before意為“在……之前”,一般表示主句的動作發生在從句動作之前。 He had finished his work before I came back.

4.由after引導的時間狀語從句 after意為“在……之后”,表示主句的動作發生在從句動作之后。 I went to bed after I finished reading the book.

5.由as soon as 引導的時間狀語從句 as soon as 意為“一……就……”,強調兩個動作緊密相連,幾乎同時發生。如果主句是一般將來時,從句常用一般現在時表將來,即“主將從現”。 He jumped up as soon as he heard the good news.
他一聽到這個好消息就跳起來了。
I will call you as soon as I arrive in New York.

6.由since引導的時間狀語從句 since意為“自從……”,從句用一般過去時,主句用現在完成時。常用句型:It has been+一段時間+since從句,意為“自從……以來已經很久了”。 We haven't seen him since he left.

7.由until/till引導的時間狀語從句 until/till表示動作或狀態一直持續到某個時刻,即“直到……”。 (1)表示“直到……為止”,主句和從句都用肯定式,主句謂語動詞為持續性動詞。 I'll wait until /till he comes back.
我會一直等到他回來為止。
(2)表示“直到……才”,主句用否定式,從句用肯定式,主句謂語動詞為短暫性動詞。 She didn't go to bed until she finished her homework.她直到做完家庭作業才上床睡覺。

Public holidays in the US
Apart from Independence Day, Labour Day and Thanksgiving, the US has several other important holidays during the year. Martin Luther King Day in January celebrates the birthday of the great
civil rights leader. Columbus Day in October remembers Christopher Columbus’ arrival in the Americas in 1492.

　　哥倫布日是美國于1792年首先發起紀念的。當時正是哥倫布到達美洲300周年紀念日，紐約市坦慕尼協會發起舉辦了紀念活動。1893年，芝加哥舉辦哥倫布展覽會，再次舉辦了盛大的紀念活動。從此，每年的這一天，美國大多數州都要舉行慶祝，以紀念這個具有歷史意義的日子。

海報的語言要求簡潔易懂、直截了當，只要說明主題和活動內容即可。海報的格式與通知基本相似，寫作時應注意以下幾點：
1. 標題寫在正上方，可用Poster，也可用海報的內容作為標題；
2. 海報的正文沒有固定的格式，但應包括活動內容(what)、主辦方(who)、時間(when)、地點(where)等；
3. 單位名稱和日期分兩行寫，位于右下方或左下方均可，日期有時也可省略。
