1) 辨析win和beat
Win 過去式 won 意為“贏，獲勝”通常和“game，war，match，prize等之類的名詞作賓語，即 Win sth。
beat 過去式 beat 意為“擊敗；勝過，后跟表示與之比賽、戰斗的人或代表群體的名詞，即beat sb.
例題 1 He always ____ the match when we play ping-pong.

the other 表示特指兩個或者兩部份中的另一個或另一部分，可直接單數名詞或復數名詞。表
示兩個中的一個……另一個……時，常用one …the other…。例：
He has two brothers, one is a teacher, the other is a doctor.
There are forty students in our class. twenty-one are girls, the other nineteen are boys.
the others 特指某一范圍內的其他的（人或物），是the other的復數形式，相當于the other+復數名詞。the other + 復數名詞 = any other + 名詞單數。例：
You two stay here, the others go with me.
I’m different from Jeff because I’m louder than the other kids (any other kid) in my class.
other 作代詞或形容詞，可修飾可數名詞單數或復數。例：
We learn Chinese, Maths, English and other subjects.
others 作代詞，泛指“其他的人或物”。 例：
Some students are doing homework, others are talking loudly.
another 泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一個”，只能代替或修飾單數可數名詞。例：
I don’t like this one. Please show me another one.
