Play the audio of the conversation 2a for the first time. Students just listen. 2. Play it again. Students listen and fill in the blanks. 3. Check the answers together. 4. Ask students some questions based on the conversation. T: Who likes history S: Emma. T: Why does she like it S: Because it's interesting to learn about the past. Step 3: Practice 1. Students read the conversation in pairs. 2. Invite some pairs to role-play the conversation in front of the class. 3. Have a small competition. See which pair can act it out best. Step 4: Listening and repeating 1. Play the audio of 2c. Students listen and pay attention to the words that link together. 2. Students repeat the conversation after the audio. Step 5: Group work 1. Students work in groups of four. They do the activities in 2d, 2e and 2f. In 2d, they put their school subjects in different groups. In 2e, they interview two classmates and take notes. In 2f, they give a report on the interview using the notes. 2. Walk around the classroom and offer help when needed. Step 6: Presentation and feedback 1. Invite some groups to present their reports. 2. Give positive feedback and correct any mistakes. Step 7: Summary and Homework 1. Summarize the key points of this lesson. 2. Assign homework: Write a short passage about your favorite subject and the reason.
