Teaching important and difficult points 1. Teaching important points - The correct usage of if-clauses and the expressions of giving advice. - The consolidation and application of the vocabulary related to problems and solutions. 2. Teaching difficult points - How to guide students to use the target language flexibly and accurately in real communication. - How to help students overcome the difficulties in understanding and using complex sentence structures. III. Teaching methods Task-based teaching method, Communicative teaching method, Situational teaching method IV. Teaching aids Multimedia, blackboard, chalk V. Teaching procedures Step 1: Warming-up 1. Greet the students and have a free talk about some common problems they might have recently. 2. Show a short video about a teenager's problem and ask students to share their thoughts. Step 2: Review 1. Present some sentences from the previous lessons and ask students to identify the grammar structures (if-clauses and the use of should/ought to). 2. Have students work in pairs to make sentences using the grammar points. Then, invite several pairs to present their sentences to the class. Step 3: Presentation 1. Show some pictures and present some problems. For example, "If I don't finish my homework, my teacher will be angry." Ask students to give advice using "should" or "ought to". 2. Write the students' suggestions on the blackboard and explain the usage of the words. Step 4: Practice 1. Group work: Divide the students into groups of four. Each group is given a problem card. Students need to discuss and write down possible solutions using if-clauses and the words "should/ought to". 2. Ask students to write a short passage about a problem they have faced and how they solved it or how they think they should solve it. They should use the language structures learned in this module. 2. Invite some students to share their writings with the class. Step 8: Summary 1. Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the grammar and vocabulary. 2. Encourage students to apply what they have learned to their daily lives. Step 9: Homework 1. Finish the exercises in the workbook. 2. Prepare a short presentation about a problem and solution for the next class.
