The Middle-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. It has a history of over 3000 years. To the Chinese, Mid-Autumn Festival means family reunion and peace.（Brief Introduction）
On this day, people usually get together with their families. They always eat moon cakes and admire the full moon. Children run around and play with lanterns. In South China, people usually drink osmanthus wine（桂花酒） on this festival, because the osmanthus is a symbol of wealth and luck. A famous ancient poem called “Prelude to Water Melody（水調歌頭）” describe the feeling of best regards to relatives. （Customs）Mooncake, a special food for Mid-Autumn Festival, is made with nuts, mashed red beans, lotus-seed paste, wrapped in a pastry.
